A female security guard found herself in the emergency room of the hospital she was guarding, this time as a patient, after she was punched in the face by a woman in Pasay City, south of the capital Manila on Saturday.

Fortunately, for the guard, her alert colleagues immediately collared her attacker and 22-year-old Cheryl Languing was turned over to the police who filed appropriate charges against the suspect.

Investigators said Lanquing punched hospital guard Jennifer Rosario 23, knocked her down to the floor and scratched her face with sharp, long nails.

Officer Alma Santiago of the Women and Children’s Concerned Desk of the Pasay Police said Rosario was on duty at the San Juan de Dios Hospital when a nurse asked for her assistance with a patient who was rushed to the emergency room for abdominal pains and had three companions, which included Languing.

Rosario went to the emergency room and explained to the group that it was hospital policy that a patient was allowed only one companion at the emergency room.

But Languing’s group refused to comply, resulting to a heated argument between the suspect and Rosario. However, when Rosario turned her back to ask for assistance from another hospital guard, Languing threw a punch at her sending her to the floor.

Languing also lashed at the face of the security guard and scratched her face with her nails.

Several guards rushed to rescue Rosario and collared Languing.

An 82-year-old Philippines man complained to the police after he was beaten up by his 76-year-old wife.

The Sun.Star reported Friday that the seething Harding Velez was threatening to file criminal charges against his wife Gloria, who used a bamboo stick to beat him several times.

According to police, Velez was hit in various parts of his body while drinking coffee in a store in the early morning of Oct. 9.

“It was so disgraceful that she has to beat me in public,” said Velez, who sought assistance from authority, as he could no longer bear the spousal abuse.

Before Tuesday’s incident, he claimed his wife had previously thrown stones at him and strangled him.

When asked, Gloria said she has had enough of her husband “who does nothing but hold his cellular phone.”

“I was so mad because early in the morning he was out there again doing nothing,” she added.

In a radio interview, she even reprimanded her husband for his alleged philandering ways and for calling their children asking for gambling money.

Police are now in a quandary as to how to deal with the complainant and the suspect because they are both senior citizens.

WAUKESHA, Wis. - A man pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing more than 1,500 pairs of girls’ shoes from area schools in a deal that calls for prosecutors to recommend probation.Erik D. Heinrich, 26, of Kenosha pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and was scheduled for sentencing Oct. 23. He told police he did it for sexual gratification.

He was arrested May 24 after a security video showed him entering North High School on May 20 and leaving with some items. Police tracked him through his vehicle registration, searched his home and a rented storage unit and found the shoes.

Police have said Heinrich worked for a cable company and collected keys to the schools as he responded to calls. He used the keys to burglarize three Waukesha public high schools and one middle school six times during the past two years, according to a criminal complaint.

Police discovered the break-in at North High School after several female students reported that the locks on their lockers had been cut and their shoes stolen.

Heinrich has a previous shoe-stealing conviction, in 2005, that was dismissed at prosecutors’ request after he completed a year of probation, counseling and 50 hours of community service.
