Remember the stories about someone’s house being egged or TP-ed by a bunch of crazy kids looking for some fun on Halloween. The perpetrator in this story is 48-year-old woman. Yes you’ve read it right, it’s not a typo, 48 years old.
After building a fence across her neighbour property it took a letter from his attorney to have her move it. That’s when the egging and other crazy things have started.
“Ever since then, our house has been egged numerous times. Our mailbox has been egged and busted inside,” says Tuttle who works as a firefighter and believes most of the vandalism happened while he was at work or away from home.
And that’s just the beginning. The Tuttles also said someone destroyed their pool pump, would steal plants out of their yard, and on three occasions smeared cat feces on the side of their house.
After numerous vandalism acts the situation was so bad they’ve decided to try to catch the perpetrator on tape.
“I’ve got it hidden here in the bushes,” says 16 year old Josh Tuttle who points to one of six strategically placed cameras throughout his family’s lawn.
He kept the cameras rolling each night for several hours until they finally could recognize their neighbour.
“She comes from her yard, and walks across our driveway,” Josh said as he described some of the video he turned over to Sheriff’s investigators.
The video evidence was enough to have the 48 year old arrested and booked into the Manatee County Jail.
“I was so happy it was like the best Christmas you would ever want, which is sad,” Josh said after the arrest.
It took hours and hours of tape, but the Tuttles hope the arrest will finally bring their problems to an end.
“Maybe she’s used to bullying people around. We’re the first ones probably to stand up to her and didn’t back down. Look what’s happening now. She’s going to jail.”
