After being arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies unemployed U.S. Army veteran had recently applied to be a cop. And he is not giving up on the idea.
24-year old Jason Brooks who admitted to 18 armed robberies of East Bay businesses since May told to the police that he did the robberies only because he needed money for food and rent.
Police say Brooks have recently submitted an application to become an Oakland police officer, but did not have test scheduled.
They also added that even after his arrest, he said he still wants to join the force.
